SUMMARY: Will asks Mulder and Scully for a little sibling. Will he get his wish? ------------------------------------ A Christmas Wish Written by: Erin M. Blair ------------------------------------ "Mommy?" Scully looked up to see her five-year-old son peering in the doorway to her and Mulder's study. "Yes, Will?" "Mommy, when are you and Daddy going to give me a little sister?" asked Will. He got into the chair. "Please?" He paused. "It's what I want." She smiled at her son and looked into his hazel eyes. "I think we can arrange that, Will." "Goody!" exclaimed Will. He got up from the chair and went to the living room, where he saw his father watching the New York Knicks versus the Golden State Warriors basketball game on television. His hazel eyes looked pleading at his father. He knew, like his mother, that it's hard to pry Mulder from the television. "Daddy!" Mulder looked away from the television and darted his eyes to his son. "Will, what's wrong?" "Mommy said it's OK," said Will. His lips was lifted up in a beautiful smile as this was the happiest he had ever been. Or at least, for the moment. Scully laughed at their son's remark. She walked towards the living room and then sat down on the couch with Mulder. "Mulder, did you put our son up to this?" "Scully, I wanted to be sure," said Mulder. "I thought you would get a good kick out of it. Besides, he's been telling me that all he wants for Christmas is a little sister." A smile was playing on her lips and then she lightly laughed. "I didn't want to say anything, but I think he's going to get his wish." "Scully, are you...pregnant?" asked Mulder. He quieted his voice down a notch so their son wouldn't hear. "Are you sure?" "Yes, Mulder, I'm positively sure. I'm pregnant," said Scully. Her smile deepened. "Will?" "Yes, Mommy?" "It looks like you're going to get your wish. You will be a big brother soon." "Yay!" exclaimed Will. "I'm so happy." He put his hand on his mother's tummy. "Is that the baby?" "You can't feel anything yet...not until three months have gone by. The baby is about a tiny as a pea," she exclaimed. She was as thrilled about the pregnancy as Mulder and Will were. She knew this news would give them all reason to smile. This was a Christmas present for all of them. "Really?" She nodded. "Yes." "Mommy, Daddy -- thank you for giving me the best Christmas present," said Will emotionally. "You're welcome, Will," said Scully. "I knew you would get your wish, Will," said Mulder. He gazed into Scully's blue eyes. "I just knew it." -- the end -- Feedback: Yes, please. Send to: eblair@sonic.net or erinmblair@yahoo.com Author's Notes: I never wanted William to be adopted; I didn't want Scully to give him up. I decided to write a hopeful story with Mulder and Scully settling down with their son. I hope this story brightens your day as it does mine.
