Blair -------------------------------------- "Mom, what are you doing here?" Dana Scully asked, as she saw her mother standing in the doorway. She was carrying a small, black photograph album which looked well-worn and faded with time. She looked curious at the album, and wondered what photos it contained. "What's this?" She led her mother inside her apartment with curiousity. "I've found it in the attic," Margaret said, as she handed her daughter the album. "It belonged to your father, and I think that you should have it..." "Why?" "I think that you know, but you were named after your paternal grandmother, Daina Katherina Scully." She paused. "We picked the name 'Dana' to modernized 'Daina'." "I had never heard of the name "Daina" before... Is it some kind of variant?" "Yes, it's a variant of Dana and Danielle." "What did she do?" "Your father told me that she was an OSS agent. There are some pictures of her in the photo album," Margaret said, with a sigh. "Anyway, I'd love to stay..." "You're leaving? So soon?" Margaret nodded. "I wanted you to see this for yourself. It's very interesting. I'm going to take care of your cousin, Cynthia, today." Scully led her mother to the door, and she gave her mother a hug. "Thanks for stopping by." "You're welcome..." After her mother had left, Scully opened the photo album to look at the photographs. She turned a few pictures when she saw a mirror image of herself. But it wasn't. It was a photograph of her grandmother, Daina Scully with someone who looked like Mulder. It was shocking, but she wanted to find out the answers. She dialed Mulder's number, and she heard a low tired mumble, "Mulder." "Mulder, it's me. I received something rather interesting. It concerns both of us." "I'm tired, Scully. Can this wait? I had a very exhausting day." "It can't wait, Mulder." "I'll be right there," Mulder said, tired. He was very intriqued at what Scully had found. Quickly, he got on his clothes on, and headed over to her apartment in Georgetown. He rang the doorbell, and he saw Scully dressed in a silky, pale blue nightshirt. "Scully, what's wrong?" "Nothing's wrong, Mulder. My mother brought me my father's photo album of his relatives, and there's something very familiar on these two pages," She said, as she was showing him the album. "She looks so much like you---" "I know. He looks so much like you... This woman's my paternal grandmother, Daina Katherina Scully. She died a month before I was born, and I was named after her. According to my mother, she was an OSS agent." "British FBI..." Mulder murmured, as he was looking at the photographs. "She looks like you, Scully." "She does," Scully said, with a sigh. "She died a month before I was born." She noticed Mulder's thoughtful expression on his face, and she knew that he was thinking about what she was saying. "There's no proof that I'm her." "Was 'Scully' her maiden name?" "No, she was my grandmother. Not my great-aunt. She married Charles William Scully. My brother, Charles, was named after him." She paused, as she remember a tragic tale of her grandmother's life. She frowned as Mulder gazed intently at her. "However..." "Yeah?" "She was in love with someone, but was killed. I think that it was him," Scully said, as she fingered the photo. She looked into Mulder's hazel eyes. "Do you suppose that we...are...them? Or that you met my grandmother, Daina?" "No wonder she didn't correct me when I said 'Scully' and she seemed to trust me. Scully, she might have thought that I was her lost love." "I know, but I heard that he was killed in a plane crash...but..." "He escaped," Mulder said, simply. "Look how many times that I escaped from death. Now that you've told me about your grandparents. My grandfather was an OSS agent too. William Fox Mulder. I was named after him... Sort of." "How convient," Scully murmured. "You never told me that..." "It's umm...a traditional family name." "Not that, Mulder. Something tells me that fate is telling us something..." "Oh?" "That we're meant to be," Scully said, as she smiled at him. She pulled him close to her, and she was ready for everything. "Do you remember what you said to me at the hospital how you love me?" Mulder nodded. "I love you too, Mulder. I've always loved you ever since we first met," Scully said, still smiling. "I had no idea you felt the same for me. I was so scared of losing you. Remember those regressions in Apison?" Scully nodded. "What about them?" "I lied. I saw different things, Scully. I was scared what you'd do if I told them to you. You were Daina. I was my own grandfather. We're meant to be..." The heat was starting light a blaze of passion between them. Their lips became closer and closer until they couldn't deny the passion any longer. Scully felt Mulder's warm mouth on hers, and they kissed long and hard. It was a kiss with all the passion that they both saved for themselves. Their kisses became longer and more passionate as the time lingered on. They couldn't resist the tempting pull of their love. Mulder looked at Scully, as he broke off the kiss. "Are you sure?" "I'm sure as I'll ever be. I want you. I want you now. Forever." "I want you, Scully. I had always wanted you," Mulder said, as he started to unbutton Scully's icy blue nightshirt. When it was off, he fingered her creamy, satin smoothed breasts. They felt cool from being exposed to the air. In a low tone of voice, he murmured. "So beautiful." He could feel warm against her naked body as Scully undressed him. All of this had made him frustrated that he wanted to come before she did. "Scully, I can't hold it much longer... I have to come." "All right," she murmured. "Make love to me." With intense passion, he released his erection and inseminated her... After their passionate encounter, Mulder couldn't believe that they had finally revealed their feeling towards each other. "I'd never thought that we would do this." "I'm sure that we would have sooner or later," Scully said, with a sigh. "It was just a matter of who would make the first move." "I was wondering the same thing. Of course, I think that Daina Scully gave us a push." "I bet she's smiling at us." "You could be right," Mulder said, as he remembered her reaction as he kissed her. "I'm glad that you didn't slug me..." "I still could," Scully said, with a laugh. "You know that I love you anyway even if I did slug you." "I'm sure you could," Mulder said, with a grin. Dana Scully's Apartment Georgetown, MD Three Months Later "I can't be pregnant. There's no way that I could be. I'd been tested after my cancer and after my abduction..." Dana Scully said to herself, as she looking at the positive results of the early pregnancy test. She had missed her monthly menestration cycle when she bought the test to prove that it was just the stomach flu. She was wrong. It was positive. She looked at again and again, thinking that the results may change. It hadn't. It's still positive. "Face it, Dana, you're expecting Mulder's baby." She paused. "How do I even begin to explain this?" She decided to tell Mulder the news, and called him. "Mulder, it's me." "I know." "There's something that I have to tell you..." "Scully, what's wrong?" Mulder asked, curious. "Nothing's wrong. I can't tell you on the phone. Come to my apartment... Ok?" "All right, Scully..." An hour later, Mulder arrived to see Scully using his key to her apartment. "Scully? *Dana*? Where are you?" He looked through her kitchen, her living room, and finally, her bedroom where he saw her on her bed under the covers, reading a book. Scully looked up at him, and she sighed. "Mulder, I've got something to tell you... I can't believe it myself..." "Believe what?" Mulder inquired. "Scully, just come right out and say it." Scully nodded. "I'm pregnant, Mulder. I don't know how..." "We made love. You know, bees do it. Birds do it--" "I know that, Mulder," Scully interrupted him, with a smile. "You don't have to tell *me* how it's done. I thought that I couldn't have children. I've been tested, and the doctors told me that I could never conceive." "I know. I remember what the Kurt Crawford clones had told me. Any theories?" "I have a couple of theories..." "Like what?" "Considering that I've only been taken once, they could have easily taken ova from one ovary," Scully said, with a pause. "That's the most logical theory that I have at the moment." "That would explain why you're pregnant with my child now," Mulder said, as he fingered Scully's stomach. "We're going to have a baby. Who would have thought?" "I know," Scully said, with a smile. "When I found out that I pregnant, I was in shock. I thought that I couldn't have children but now I am." "I know how you feel, Scully. I thought what the clones told me was true, but we forgot something..." Scully arched her eyebrows in curiousity, not in disbelief. "What?" "We forgot that not everything's true or what's crack up to be." "You mean like, "trust no one", Mulder." "Yes, but it's more like "trust no one except each other." That's what I had in mind." He paused, as he gazed at Scully's blue eyes. "Thank you..." "For what?" "For telling me that we're going to be parents. I think that we should make it official." "Official?" Scully inquired. "Scully?" "Yeah?" "Marry me." He paused. "I'm not kidding. I'm serious." Scully smiled at him, and she gave a little laugh. "I didn't think that you were joking. Yes, Mulder." "Is that your answer?" "Yes, Mulder. I'll be your wife." He smiled as he placed the diamond engagement ring on Scully's ring finger. "You don't know how happy that I am." "I think that I already know," Scully said, as she looked at her new engagement ring which sparkled in the light. "This is...so beautiful. I love how the diamond is set." "I take it that you love it. When I saw it, I thought that it reminded me so much of you. So strong. So classy." "Thank you," Scully said, touched. "Sometimes, I wonder if you thought me of a being a strong woman." She paused. "I thought I acted like a weakling at times." "No, you're not a weakling, Scully, you're such a brave woman. Strong. Determined. I had never thought of you as a weak woman." He paused. "You're a strong woman." "Coming from you, it means so much for me to hear you say that." "I know. Scully, we're going to have a new triangle soon." "What do you mean?" "You, me, and our baby." "I know." Dana and Fox Mulder's Residence Georgetown, MD Six Months Later Monday, 7:00 p.m. "Scully?" Mulder inquired, as he walked into their newborn daughter's nursery. "How's our baby? Scully looked up from seeing Kristine, and she smiled at her husband. "She's fine." She touched their daughter's auburn hair lovingly, and she couldn't believe how blessed they were. "After I changed her diaper, she decided that she was tired. She's sleeping." "Don't worry, Scully. I'm sure that she's going to wake us up after we've gone to bed. That's how it has been since we've took her home from the hospital. I'm sure that Kristine will be just like her parents when she grows up." "I'm sure she will." End of Story. Author's Note: I had watched "Triangle" and enjoyed the ep. In this story, I tried to give some background on who the 1939 Scully lookalike is...which leads into something very interesting. I've tried my hand at a little sex scene much more vividly than I had in the past. After the sex scene, it does drift off into some alternate universe. Feedback: Yes, I'd love some. =) Send to: eblair@sonic.net
